Again I think we won the toss and asked Singleton to bat first. We took to the field with the help of three players from Ebernoe due to our lack of players on this tour. Mo (ebernoe) and Nick opened the bowling and kept it tight for the first eight overs without getting any success. Frankie came on first change and also had no success. that was left to our other guest players Richard Stemp and Matt Scaiff to get amongst the wickets and Singleton were soon 89-5. A horrendous drop catch from Me (nick) of Stempy's bowling not only brought howls of laughter from my team mates but in the hind sight lost us this game with Singleton reaching 177-8 eight from their 40 overs with Jocky taking 3-34 at the end. After a fine tea Richard and Geoff opened the batting and after being dropped of the first ball Richard was dismissed on the fifth ball without troubling the scorers.Matt carried on where he left off against us the previous day and quickly raced to 18 before being bowled.Clive joined Geoff at the crease before Geoff was bowled .Wickets again fell steadily before our innings closed on 118-9 with Clive scoring 45. Another match and two defeats in a row something unheard off on tour. Many thanks to Matt Scaiff, Richard Stemp, Mo Boxall and Timmy Beck for helping us out. Special thanks to Paul who with my daughter Naomi came up to watch us Monday only for them to return again Tuesday so Paul could help us out. |
